SITE ANALYSIS AND INSTALLATION OF BIOFUEL GENERATOR TO SUPPLEMENT EXISTING SUPPLY

Client:
Waste Collection Company

Market:
Environmental Recycling

Project:
The client is awaiting a supply upgrade from the Utility Company and in the interim has a requirement for additional power due to the installation of a new classified recycling unit. The additional power requirement is approx. 300kW.

Problem:
The existing grid supply is not sufficient and the client’s equipment generates a lot of harmonics.

Package:
A 1250kVA biofuel generator was supplied with a 40,000 litre bulk fuel tank and all associated cabling and pipework.

Technical Solution:
A harmonic study and power analysis of the site was carried out and so that the equipment supplied would mimic the supply of the upgraded grid supplied a 1250kVA was recommended. Due to the nature of the clients business it was important for them to look at the environmental impact of any equipment they were to be supplied. Therefore the use of biofuel was discussed, the merits presented and they were delighted to be given this opportunity as part of the solution.
